Strictly 2024 Line-Up: First Celebrity Contestants Revealed

The BBC has confirmed the first batch of celebrity contestants for the 2024 series of Strictly Come Dancing, which returns on Saturday 14 September 2024. The show, celebrating its 20th anniversary, will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, presented by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

Among the announced stars is comedian Chris McCausland, who admitted the show is 'so far out of his comfort zone it may as well be on the moon'. Singer and TV presenter JB Gill, who previously took part in the Christmas Special 12 years ago, said he 'absolutely loved it' and is looking forward to learning ballroom and Latin.

Opera singer Wynne Evans expressed excitement about the experience, hoping to incorporate Welsh music. Actress and singer Toyah Willcox described dancing as 'one of the most extraordinary things about being a human being'. Media medic Punam Krishan said she is ready to 'surrender to the magic of Strictly'.
