Stranger Things fans have been left scratching their heads over the fate of Dustin Henderson's girlfriend, Suzie Bingham, who was notably absent from the show's fifth and final season. The character, played by Gabriella Pizzolo, last appeared in season four, where she helped the California group locate a computer in Nevada.
Viewers have taken to Reddit to theorise about her disappearance, with many suggesting that the relationship may have ended due to a combination of factors. One fan speculated that Dustin's grief over Eddie Munson's death may have caused him to become cold and distant, similar to how Max treated Lucas after Billy's death. Another pointed out that Suzie's strictly religious Mormon father had forbidden her from seeing Dustin after discovering she was dating an agnostic.
The long-distance nature of their relationship, set in the 1980s with limited communication, was also cited as a likely reason for their breakup. One Redditor noted that Suzie wasn't allowed to date, making it difficult for the romance to survive. Another commented that not every character needs a happy romantic ending.
In the series finale, Stacey Albright appeared to show an interest in Dustin at graduation, further suggesting that Suzie is no longer in the picture. While the show did not directly address her fate, the combination of Eddie's death, Hawkins' lockdown, and parental objections likely spelled the end for Dustin and Suzie's romance.
Another character whose fate remains unclear is Argyle, played by Eduardo Franco, who also did not appear in season five. Fans have theorised that he may have escaped Hawkins before the military lockdown took place. Despite these loose ends, the Stranger Things universe will continue with an animated series, Stranger Things: Tales from '85, expected in 2026.
