Stranger Things Star Finn Wolfhard Urges Fans to Stop Harassing Cast

Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard has called on fans to stop harassing the show's cast, following criticism he received for not stopping to speak to fans outside a US hotel.

The 14-year-old, who plays Mike Wheeler, was labelled 'heartless' in a now-deleted Twitter video after failing to engage with fans waiting outside. In response, Wolfhard tweeted: 'If you are for real you will not harass my friends, or co-workers.' He added that fans were targeting people 'literally acting and doing their job' and urged them to 'think before they type.'

Co-stars Noah Schnapp and Shannon Purser defended Wolfhard, with Schnapp calling him 'the nicest guy' and noting the cast works hard and needs breaks. Purser emphasised that no actor is obliged to stop for anyone. Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner also condemned the treatment of young actors, saying it was wrong to 'shun and demean that child' for not posing for photos.

Earlier this week, Wolfhard described sexual comments made about him by a 27-year-old model as 'gross'.
