Steve Buscemi has been cast in the second season of Netflix's Wednesday, though his role remains under wraps. The news was confirmed by Deadline, with Buscemi joining Jenna Ortega in the Addams Family spin-off.
Buscemi's career spans iconic film roles in Fargo and The Big Lebowski, as well as appearances in Adam Sandler comedies. On television, he earned an Emmy nomination for playing Tony Blundetto in The Sopranos and won a Golden Globe and two SAG Awards for his lead role in Boardwalk Empire.
Jenna Ortega will reprise her role as Wednesday Addams, with the actress previously revealing that season two will shift away from romance. 'We're ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday,' she told Variety. 'We've decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more.'
The production base for the new season has moved from Romania to Ireland. Additionally, Netflix is reportedly developing a Wednesday spin-off that could bring back Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester. The first season of Wednesday is available to stream now on Netflix.
