Spitting Image Returns to Savage Boris and Royals

Spitting Image has unveiled its puppets of Boris Johnson, Dominic Cummings, and Prince Andrew ahead of the satirical show's return to television later this year on BritBox. The series, which originally ran for 18 series between 1984 and 1996, will feature the prime minister with his shock of blond hair, Cummings in a hoodie with a silver collar, and Andrew in a tartan coat with a paisley neckerchief.

Other figures set to be lampooned include Donald Trump, Beyoncé, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Vladimir Putin, Bernie Sanders, Elon Musk, RuPaul, Adele, and James Corden. The show is the first original commission for BritBox UK, the streaming service launched by the BBC and ITV.

Co-creator Roger Law returns for the new series, which was watched by 15 million viewers at its peak. The original show famously depicted Margaret Thatcher in a man's suit treating her cabinet as 'the vegetables', John Major as a grey puppet, and the Queen Mother drinking from a gin bottle.
