Actual GTA 6 gameplay has debuted in an episode of South Park, as Rockstar confirms a bunch of new details about the sequel. The footage appeared in the latest episode, titled Guinea Pig On A Stick, where the gang visits a cattle ranch and gets an exclusive look at the game.
In the sequence, protagonist Jason is shown picking up dog poo on a beach and throwing it at people, to Cartman's delight. An insider in the episode remarks: 'Look at that, the graphics are seriously next level. You see the world building?'
Dog Poo Mechanics and Credits
The insider continues: 'It's a dog taking a poop. And people can pick up the dog poop. You can throw things at the person with dog poop, and if they choose to fight back, you can pick up the dog poop and actually attack them with the dog poop. That is what's coming in November.'
A credit to Rockstar is featured in the episode's credits, confirming the footage is legitimate. Although it's not the first time such a feature has appeared in a video game, with the appalling Duke Nukem Forever, from 2011, also offering the option.
As noted by X account papaRPG_, the woman who explains the dog poo mechanics is voiced by Tish Hicks, who narrated the extended GTA 5 gameplay trailer from years ago. This isn't the first time South Park has collided with Rockstar's output; in season 22 episode Time To Get Cereal, police detective Harrison Yates gets addicted to Red Dead Redemption 2.
New Screenshots and Details
Elsewhere, a bunch of new GTA 6 screenshots and details have appeared in Edge magazine. Rockstar claims that the game's map is roughly the size of GTA 4, GTA 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2 combined, which they previously described as double the size of GTA 5.
The article confirms there will be fully functional bus and train systems across Leonida, the game's fictional spin on Florida. Police will be able to deploy K9 dog units, and you'll be able to summon vehicles through the Scooter Bros app on your in-game phone.
Granular World Details
The most impressive part of GTA 6 seems to be the granular, reactive moments within the world. Characters will respond to the smell of certain locations with 'varying degrees of disgust' according to the article, while the weather system will reshape the world in various ways, from dripping buildings to islands sheltering stretches of water after storms, which changes how boats will move through bays and along shorelines.
This granular detail is exactly what South Park is poking fun at, so Rockstar is clearly aware of how silly it all sounds when described out loud. GTA 6 arrives on November 19, 2026.
