Sophie Turner's 'Steal' Heist Thriller Drops in January

Prime Video has just unveiled the first explosive look at its upcoming heist thriller, Steal, starring Game of Thrones icon Sophie Turner.

What is the Steal series about?

The six-part series, billed as a "contemporary, high-octane thriller about the heist of the century", is set to premiere on January 21. Turner takes on the role of Zara, an ordinary office worker whose typical day at Lochmill Capital, a pension fund investment company, is violently upended.

A gang of thieves storms the offices, forcing Zara and her best friend Luke, played by Saltburn star Archie Madekwe, to carry out their demands. The central, gripping question posed by the synopsis is: "But who would steal billions of pounds of ordinary people's pensions and why?"

Who else is in the cast and crew?

Leading the investigation within the series is DCI Rhys, portrayed by Jacob Fortune-Lloyd. However, the detective is a recently relapsed gambling addict, meaning he must battle his own severe money problems while untangling the secret agendas at the heart of this massive crime.

The production commenced filming in London in May 2024, with several episodes directed by renowned filmmaker Sam Miller. Miller, a former actor famous for his role in The Bill, has an impressive directorial portfolio that includes hit BBC dramas like Luther, This Life, and Cardiac Arrest.

Sophie Turner's busy schedule

The launch of Steal on Prime Video comes just days after another major project for Sophie Turner. The actress is also set to become the next Lara Croft, with her new series launching on January 19.

Turner herself generated significant buzz by posting first-look images from Steal on her Instagram. Fans were quick to express their excitement in the comments, with one writing, "SO excited for this dynamic duo", while another praised her "SOPhisticated and boss level" appearance. One eager fan perfectly captured the anticipation, commenting, "Can't wait to see @sophiet steal the show once more (no pun intended)."

All six episodes of this gripping heist drama will be available for streaming on Prime Video this January.
