Celebrity Catchphrase viewers were left baffled during the latest episode as they complained that the answers were not actual catchphrases. The ITV show, which aired on Saturday evening, featured soap stars Mark Bonnar, Alexandra Burke, and Claire Sweeney competing for charity.
Claire Sweeney, known for her roles in Brookside and Coronation Street, impressed with her guesses, while Mark Bonnar, a former Casualty star, won the final round and donated over £17,000 to an ME charity. The show raised a total of £22,400 for charity.
However, viewers took to social media to voice their confusion. One user wrote: 'Catchphrase is on, but none of the answers are actual catchphrases! This, more than anything, captures the country’s decline perfectly. In the version I’ve just watched, one of the answers was “Allen Key” and another was “Stuffed Toys”. They’re just things - they’re not catchphrases.'
Another viewer questioned the answer 'butterfly kiss', asking: 'What the frig is a butterfly kiss?' Others reminisced about the show's original host Roy Walker, with one post saying: 'Catchphrase will never be catchphrase without Roy Walker! Say what you see, if you see it say it!'
