Sky has confirmed that Saturday Night Live UK will return for a second season, with an extended run of 12 episodes—double the first season's count. The show, which concluded its debut series recently, was renewed earlier this month following strong audience engagement.
Phil Edgar-Jones, Sky's executive director of unscripted originals, stated: "It's fair to say people doubted SNL would work in the UK, but thanks to Lorne Michaels, his longtime Saturday Night Live producing team and UTAS UK, alongside our brilliant cast and writers, SNL UK is Sky's most talked about show of the year." He added that the show is "now firmly part of the cultural conversation" and confirmed its return in the autumn.
SNL creator Lorne Michaels expressed pride in the team, saying: "I'm incredibly proud of our team and the show. It keeps getting better every week. I'm grateful to Dana Strong and Sky for believing in and supporting SNL UK. I'm excited for the season ahead."
While an exact release date has not been announced, Sky has indicated the series will begin in September 2026, airing on Saturdays. The 12 episodes will run through to early 2027, with intermittent breaks similar to the US version. Cast members from season 1 are expected to return, though celebrity hosts have yet to be confirmed.
