The 51st season of Saturday Night Live concluded with a strong finale hosted by former cast member Will Ferrell. The cold open featured Ferrell as the ghost of Jeffrey Epstein visiting President Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson) in the Oval Office. Epstein showed Trump visions of the future, including Kristi Noem selling vacuum cleaners and Pete Hegseth and Kash Patel hosting a podcast. The sketch ended with a rendition of 'Just the Two of Us' and a near kiss.
The episode included a clever opening segment where Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, a Ferrell doppelganger, attempted to hijack the show. The real Ferrell kicked him off stage before taking audience questions, with musical guest Sir Paul McCartney confusing Ferrell for Smith.
Other sketches included Ferrell as a doctor who accidentally removes a patient's penis and testicle during surgery, a musical short based on the Battle of Helm's Deep from The Lord of the Rings, and a return of Ferrell's character Mr. Koenig, a drama teacher, alongside Molly Shannon as a choir teacher.
Weekend Update featured the annual joke swap between anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che. Che gave Jost racially offensive material, while Jost retaliated with jokes about Che dating a little boy and defending Michael Jackson, referencing the Jackson family in the audience.
