Sky has released the first trailer for its upcoming five-part limited series Possession, a supernatural crime drama starring British icons Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Loki, Surface) and Jonny Lee Miller (Trainspotting, The Crown). The series, set across Bristol and Jamaica, centers on a chilling mystery that promises to shake viewers.
Plot and Cast
Mbatha-Raw portrays Claudia, an ambitious lawyer sent to Jamaica to settle an inheritance dispute between local Cudjoe East (Sheldon Shepherd) and wealthy white aristocrat Oliver Connaught (Miller). Claudia soon realizes the estate in question is Hope Hill, a former plantation that has haunted her dreams.
An official synopsis from Sky teases: “As Claudia and Oliver dig deeper, they uncover a disturbing link between the plantation’s brutal past and the injustices still shaping the present.” The drama is described as a “gripping supernatural thriller that blends eerie mystery with the vibrant energy of Jamaica.”
Joining Mbatha-Raw and Miller are Bel Powley (HBO's upcoming Harry Potter series), Richard Dillane (The Crown), Shantol Jackson (Death in Paradise), Nadean Rawlins (Bob Marley: One Love), Sean Gilder (Slow Horses), Olunike Adeliyi (The Fire Inside), Diveen Henry (The Day of the Jackal), Jack Bandeira (Happy Valley), Jeff Crossley (Bob Marley: One Love), and newcomer Safina Simpson.

Sky will release Possession later this year in the UK and Ireland, though an exact date has not been confirmed. The trailer, shared on social media, has sparked excitement.
