Shaun Evans, best known for playing Endeavour Morse, has joined the cast of BBC drama This City Is Ours for its second season. Filming has begun in Liverpool, with Evans portraying ex-gangster Ozzie Thompson, recently released from prison.
The second season picks up after the events of the first, with Michael and Diana dragged back into the fold following Ricardo's death. Back in Liverpool, tensions simmer among remaining gang members, while an old-school gangster from Ronnie's era seeks compensation from the firm.
Evans joins returning cast members including James Nelson-Joyce, Hannah Onslow, Jack McMullen, Mike Noble, Julie Graham, and others. Also new to the cast is Álvaro Morte, who plays Colombian cartel member Felipe Guzman.
The eight-part series is written by Stephen Butchard and filmed in Liverpool and Spain. Season one, which launched in March, was BBC One's biggest new drama of the year, attracting an average of 5.8 million viewers.
