Shaun Evans Joins BBC's This City Is Ours for Season Two

Shaun Evans, best known for his role in Endeavour, and Álvaro Morte from The Wheel of Time have joined the cast of This City Is Ours for its second season. The BBC crime drama, created by Stephen Butchard, was the broadcaster's biggest new drama of the year so far after its first season aired.

Filming for the second season has begun, with returning cast members including James Nelson-Joyce, Hannah Onslow, Jack McMullen, Mike Noble, Julie Graham, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Adam Abbou, Laura Aikman, Kevin Harvey, and Darci Shaw. The first season also featured Sean Bean, whose character died in the second episode. Nelson-Joyce has expressed interest in a flashback episode that would allow Bean to return.

Evans will play Ozzie Thompson, a former gangster recently released from prison. Morte will portray Felipe Guzman, a member of the Colombian cartel and younger brother of Ricardo, who was killed at the end of the first season.

The synopsis for season two states: 'Picking up from where things were left at the end of series 1, Michael and Diana have barely arrived in Spain when they are dragged back into the fold to answer questions around Ricardo's death. Back in Liverpool, tensions continue to bubble amongst the remaining members of the gang. Meanwhile, an old school gangster from Ronnie's era, recently out of prison, wants compensation from the firm.'

The new eight-part season will be filmed in and around Liverpool, with additional filming in Spain. Season one is currently available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
