Sharon Rooney's Traitors future 'sealed' as flaws exposed

Sharon Rooney's time in The Celebrity Traitors castle could be about to end after body language expert Judi James revealed that the actress's decision to share her knowledge with the group could see her murdered.

The Scottish actress, 38, floored her cast mates in recent scenes of the popular BBC show with her deductive powers after flying under the radar through its early run. However, she came out swinging during the more recent episode as she managed to work out, in large part, how her fellow Faithful Ross Kemp was murdered in plain sight.

Sharon's Perfume Theory

The EastEnders actor, best known for playing Grant Mitchell, became the latest star to be killed after a shock murder in plain sight twist. Sharon, who has previously dubbed herself 'Poundland Poirot', was on the hunt for clues in the castle and noticed that the perfume bottle, which had to be sprayed for the murder, had been emptied and moved.

She also spotted that the peacock atomiser indicated sleepiness on a nearby chart, which indeed links back to the murder. Having discovered the perfume bottle in the library, the Faithful were led to believe the murder had happened in that room.

Body Language Expert's Analysis

Speaking on behalf of Paddy Power Bingo, Judi said: "Sharon is one of two celebrities that have been lurking below the radar in the castle but last night [Thursday, October 22] she decided to step up and reveal her might as a sleuth.

"Suddenly she was taking over the group physically and in terms of their precious camera time by herding them into the room to announce her perfume theory, and it was done very much in the style of Columbo, i.e the quiet humble guy who everyone dismisses as inconsequential suddenly nailing the villain in front of the assembled cast.

"She also took a very dominant stance during the roundtable discussions but there were two fatal flaws to her body language and her detective-style performance that made the others keen to cut her down to size."

Two Fatal Flaws

Judi continued: "Sharon's perfume bottle theory revealed a trait of forensic thinking and a very long memory when it came to clues. She sounded like a clue hoarder, but as her spot on perfume theory had no conclusion it only hit home with the Traitors.

"For the Faithfuls it sounded like a dead end. This in turn would have made the Faithfuls annoyed by the sudden status and camera-time-leapfrogging. Sharon didn't just deliver her theory she used the body language of authority to do so, rippling the existing group pecking order in the castle and making herself vulnerable on several levels in the process.

"Sharon delivered her theory with a constantly pointing finger, which made her look openly accusatory but without picking on one specific person so she seemed like a danger to all. Her eyes were wide and she suddenly sounded assertive. It looked like the kind of pre-emptive attack on everyone that a Traitor would make to deflect attacks on themselves."

Traitors Maya Jama, James Acaster and King Kenny narrowed their next murder victim down to three people last night: Miranda Hart, Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian Croft. Fans will have to wait and see who makes it to breakfast and through to next week's final. The Celebrity Traitors continues Friday, October 23 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 8pm.
