Susanna Reid and Ed Balls have made a surprise cameo appearance in ITV's new spy thriller, Secret Service. The Good Morning Britain presenters play themselves in the drama, interviewing the fictional Foreign Secretary, played by Mark Stanley.
The five-part series, adapted from a novel by ITV News anchor Tom Bradby, follows MI6 officer Kate Henderson (Gemma Arterton) as she uncovers evidence that a high-ranking UK politician may be working as a Russian asset.
Mark Stanley praised the duo, saying: 'Can I just say, you two were amazing in that!' Tom Bradby added: 'It was fun! You were so game, we really had a lovely time.'
Reid joked that she and Balls were 'huge central stars' in the drama. Balls noted that playing themselves felt natural, but praised Stanley's transformation into character.
Secret Service airs on ITV1 and ITVX on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 9 pm.
