Sally Dynevor gives clear mammogram update on GMB

Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor has shared a health update on Good Morning Britain, revealing she recently received the all clear following a mammogram.

Speaking to Richard Madeley and Ranvir Singh on Wednesday's instalment of the ITV programme (October 28), the 63-year-old was asked: "How are you now, Sally? You're well?"

All Clear After Recent Mammogram

Sharing an update on her health, Sally replied: "Yeah, I'm good. I had a mammogram a couple of weeks ago and all clear." She added positively, "So, onwards and upwards."

The soap star has previously discussed her breast cancer diagnosis, which she discovered shortly after her on-screen character, Sally Webster, also revealed her own diagnosis on the show.

Recalling the Moment of Diagnosis

During the conversation, the actress opened up about the moment she was told she had cancer, which resulted in her fainting. She explained that after filming scenes with Michael Le Vell, in which her character told her husband she had cancer, she told him she was going to see her consultant as she had found a lump.

She initially dismissed the thought of it being cancer, telling him, "I've got a lump, it's tiny, it's nothing, and I'm going to have a meeting with Lester (Barr) at the end of the day." After the scenes were filmed, she met her real-life husband, Tim, at the hospital, where her consultant shared that her biopsy had come back and she had breast cancer.

Sally added: "The next thing I knew, I fainted. I was on the floor. I woke up on a bed. I looked at him, my husband was there, and I said, 'I think you're mixing me up with my character'. He said, 'No, I'm not'. I had little children, it was 17 years ago, so it was a while ago."

Supporting the National Breast Imaging Academy

At the time, her eldest daughter, Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne in Bridgerton, was nine years old, while her other children were seven and five. In 2010, Sally received the all clear after undergoing surgery, having a lumpectomy and undergoing a course of chemotherapy.

Sally appeared on Good Morning Britain to speak about the new National Breast Imaging Academy in Manchester. Ranvir explained to viewers that it will train roughly 50 specialists a year who will then go on to work across the NHS.

Ranvir explained: "It's so significant as it will increase local screening capacity by up to an astonishing 13,000 appointments a year. The wonderful actress Sally Dynevor, herself, as I'm sure you know, a breast cancer survivor, was one of the first to get a tour of the academy building, which opens its doors today."

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
