PTSD UK has condemned the lyric 'get PTSD on the daily', calling it 'medically inaccurate' and accusing the singer of trivialising a serious condition. In an open letter, the charity stated that such language reinforces stigma and minimises the experiences of those living with PTSD.
A spokesperson for PTSD UK said: 'Artistic freedom is valuable, but with influence comes responsibility. PTSD is not something to be trivialised or used as a synonym for a bad experience.' The Daily Mail has contacted Carpenter's representatives for comment.
