Ross Kemp has filmed his final scenes as Grant Mitchell in EastEnders, marking the end of his latest stint on the BBC soap. The actor was seen leaving Elstree Studios, waving to fans and posing for photos, after wrapping up what bosses have described as an 'explosive' storyline.
Kemp returned to the role earlier this year as part of the show's 40th anniversary, initially prompted by concerns from family friend Nigel about Phil Mitchell's mental health. His comeback took a dramatic turn when Mark Fowler Jr discovered that Grant was his biological father, leading to a reunion between father and son.
Speaking about his return in February, Kemp said: 'I'm truly delighted to be stepping back into Grant Mitchell's shoes and returning to EastEnders later this year. As well as exploring Grant's attempts to reconnect with his son Mark, it's especially an honour to be part of Nigel's powerful ongoing dementia storyline, which holds deep personal meaning for me due to a close family connection in real life.'

Grant Mitchell, one of Walford's most iconic characters, has been at the centre of numerous memorable storylines, including the infamous 'Sharongate' affair with his brother Phil and his turbulent marriage to Tiffany Raymond. Kemp first left the soap in 1999, returning briefly in 2005-2006 and again in 2016 for Barbara Windsor's final scenes.
