Rosamund Pike's Inter Alia leads best theatre to stream this month
Rosamund Pike's Inter Alia tops theatre streaming picks

Rosamund Pike delivers a breathtaking performance in Suzie Miller's blistering legal drama Inter Alia, now available to stream via NT at Home from 7 July. Pike, who won an Olivier award for her role in Miller's earlier play Prima Facie, plays a judge under pressure, shifting seamlessly between courtroom scenes, karaoke with friends, ironing before a party, and a family crisis. Director Justin Martin, a master at building tension, directs with customary flair.

Summerfolk from NT at Home

Also from NT at Home, sibling playwrights Nina and Moses Raine adapt Maxim Gorky's sprawling 1904 portrait of indulgence and infidelity at a dacha in summertime. Robert Hastie's production unfolds on Peter McKintosh's set of towering timber. Available from 7 July.

Paddington the Musical and Black Comedy Revival

Tom Fletcher's songs for Paddington: The Musical are as moreish as marmalade sandwiches, and the original cast recording is now available. Top tracks include the chaotic Don't Touch That and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt's dastardly Pretty Little Dead Things. Meanwhile, Peter Shaffer's 1965 comedy Black Comedy, revived by Caroline Steinbeis at the Orange Tree theatre in Richmond until 11 July, uses blazing lights to convey pitch black darkness. Starring Joe Bannister as a crafty sculptor, the production is available on demand 14-17 July.
