Celebrity Traitors Season 2 Finale: Romesh and Bash Split £83,000 Prize
Romesh and Bash Win Celebrity Traitors Season 2 Finale

The Celebrity Traitors season 2 grand finale on BBC One concluded with Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian 'Bash' Croft emerging as the winners, splitting the £83,000 jackpot for their charitable causes. As the final two players standing, both revealed they were Faithfuls, prompting an emotional celebration.

A Wild Finale Unfolds

The episode opened with a murder, as Traitors Maya Jama and King Kenny selected Michael Sheen for elimination. Following a high-octane challenge where Maya, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Bash hung from helicopters and set off explosives to secure an additional £18,500, the final roundtable began.

Maya faced intense scrutiny and was banished, with the deciding vote cast by her fellow Traitor Kenny. She did not reveal her identity as a Traitor at that point. The remaining five players then voted in successive rounds, leading to Leigh-Anne's banishment with four out of five votes, followed by Kenny and James Blunt receiving equal votes. Romesh and Bash chose to banish Kenny, leaving no Traitors in the final. James then opted for one more vote and was the last player banished.

Fan Reactions and Season Highlights

Fans celebrated the outcome on social media, with one user, Kat, posting: 'Although I am usually Team Traitor, I am SO GLAD Bash and Romesh won! Well well well deserved!' Another fan, PC, shared: 'I've got tears in my eyes. The perfect two to win. Love the love between Romesh and Bash.'

The season had its share of dramatic moments, including Richard E Grant inadvertently revealing his Traitor status early on, James Acaster being recruited against his wishes, and Professor Hannah Fry later joining the Turret. James's declaration that he was a Traitor in the penultimate episode sparked debate among fans about whether he had broken the rules.

Looking Ahead

James later explained his decision, saying: 'The idea of doing that got me through the whole experience because you feel as a Traitor sometimes, when you see people have real-life reactions that are bigger than the game, you feel bad.' He added: 'I would have to remind myself they don't have a game without you, literally, if no one's doing this stuff, they can't play, and they all want to play.'

The civilian series of The Traitors is set to return with season five in January 2027. Celebrity Traitors is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
