Richard Ayoade, best known for The IT Crowd and Last One Laughing, has joined the impressive ensemble cast of the sixth season of Only Murders in the Building, alongside a host of other British stars. The Deadline report emerges just hours after witnesses alleged that Ayoade was involved in a road collision that reportedly sent two people to hospital.
Star-Studded British Cast
The actor, comedian, and presenter is among several high-profile names set to appear in the sixth season of Disney+'s hugely popular murder mystery drama, which will be filmed in London. British talent recruited for the latest chapter includes Doctor Who alumni David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker, alongside Bridgerton favourite Nicola Coughlan, reports the Mirror.
Additional cast members unveiled today are Jim Broadbent (Paddington), Adrian Lukis (The Outlaws), and Kathryn Hunter (Poor Things). Previously confirmed names include Coughlan's Bridgerton co-star Simone Ashley, Absolutely Fabulous legend Jennifer Saunders, Bad Sisters' Sharon Horgan, and The Office star Martin Freeman.
Further recurring cast members include Sean Teale, Amar Chadha-Patel, Rhea Norwood, Matthew Beard, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Jamie Demetriou, Anjana Vasan, Jane Horrocks, Derek Jacobi, and Lesley Nicol.
Filming and Release Details
Filming is currently under way across the UK, though no release date for the sixth series has yet been announced. The series features Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. Only Murders in the Building is available to stream on Disney+.
