Big Brother contestant Philip Regan, known as the Queen of Scotty Road, has confirmed he will not attend tonight's reunion show after a death in his family.
The series concluded last night when Rochelle Rackham was crowned the winner. The season is scheduled to end with a live reunion episode as housemates look back on their time in the show.
Philip's social media announcement
Philip took to social media this week to share the news with his followers. He said: "I would like to take a moment to personally apologise to everyone for not being able to attend the Big Brother Group Chat or Reunion. Unfortunately, due to a death in my family, we have been dealing with a very difficult and emotional time."
The statement, posted to Instagram, continued: "Family comes first and I needed to take a step back from everything to be with my loved ones and deal with this personal loss. I hope you all understand that this was not a decision taken lightly and I am truly sorry."
From viral fame to panto
Before entering the Big Brother house, Philip was already known virally for his Scouse humour and quick wit, including his signature catchphrase "times are hard and friends are few... ta ra to you." The phrase became so popular that the star even released a single based on it.
He rose to fame in 2021 when his videos began to go viral on TikTok, racking in millions of views. He was then seen hosting local events and taking on theatrical productions.
Outside of reality TV and social media fame, Philip is a theatrical performer and is set to star in the Christmas pantomime Cinderella later this year, which will be available to watch at the M&S Arena in Liverpool.
