The Polar Express Train Ride, a magical 'real-life' adaptation of the classic Christmas film, will return to London Euston Station on selected dates between December 5 and December 23, 2026. Tickets go on sale this week, with general sales opening on July 3 at 10am. Those who sign up for the mailing list can enjoy early access and book tickets from July 2. Popular dates, such as weekends and school holidays, tend to sell out very quickly.
Immersive Onboard Experience
The experience has run at London Euston Station for the past two years and is now set to return with all the magic audiences have come to expect. Based on the 2004 Christmas film The Polar Express, featuring voice artists such as Tom Hanks, the ride takes place on a beautifully decorated steam train. Guests are encouraged to wear pyjamas, a nod to the movie, with many families choosing Christmas-themed bedclothes or matching sets to add to the fun atmosphere.
Before boarding, guests can enjoy Christmas carols playing and browse a festive-themed gift shop. Once onboard, they are seated at lantern-lit tables for a one-hour immersive journey. Performers bring the story to life: the conductor punches golden tickets, dancing chefs serve hot chocolate and cookies, and there is a read-along of the 1985 book. Characters such as Hobo appear, and Santa Claus walks through the carriages with his elf assistant, handing a silver sleigh bell to each passenger as a memento. In the book and movie, only those who believe in Santa can hear its ring, making it a fun experience for older children.
Ticket Prices and Booking
Prices start at £69 per ticket for adults and children alike, including a souvenir golden ticket and a sleigh bell. Under-2s sitting on an adult's lap can enjoy the experience for £5 and must be booked online as an extra. According to the organisers, PNP Events, the ride is "set to return with all the magic audiences have come to expect."

Similar Polar Express Train Rides are running at several other locations across the UK. At Spa Valley Railway in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, the ride runs from November 7 to December 30, with tickets on sale now. In the South West, South Devon Railway in Buckfastleigh, Devon hosts the ride from November 27 to December 23, with tickets from £35.95 available online. In the North of England, Wensleydale Railway in North Yorkshire runs a festive service from November 13 to December 23, with some dates already close to selling out.
