Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse has addressed the future of her new travel documentary series after announcing she is expecting her second child. The professional dancer, who currently serves as a judge on Dancing on Ice, fronts the four-part ITV series Oti and Richard’s South African Odyssey alongside I’m A Celebrity co-star Reverend Richard Coles.
Pregnancy Announcement and Family Plans
Earlier this year, Oti revealed she is expecting her second child with husband Marius Lepure, whom she met in Germany when they were paired as dance partners. The couple married in 2014 and welcomed their first child in 2023. Sharing the news on Instagram, Oti wrote: “Plot twist… We thought we had our hands full already, but life had even bigger plans. Baby No. 2 is joining the dance party, and our hearts (and house) are about to get a whole lot fuller.”
Future of the Travel Series
As Oti and Richard’s South African Odyssey prepares to air on 21 July at 9pm on More4, the dancer addressed the possibility of a second season. When asked by Radio Times Magazine if the series could include a visit to Richard’s hometown of Kettering, Richard quipped: “I’m not sure we’d get four programmes out of Kettering. Although if we took in Northampton as well…” Oti responded: “I was thinking South America or Asia… I can still do it – I’ll just bring the whole family with me!”
Behind the Scenes Moments
Richard also shared a humorous anecdote from filming in South Africa: “We were walking along the seafront in Ballito, in KwaZulu-Natal, and a local lady said something I didn’t understand. Oti told me the lady had been speculating on whether I was Oti’s old white husband.”
Oti, who left South Africa to pursue her dance career in Germany before moving to the UK, has graced screens as a judge on Dancing on Ice, fronted her own ITV weekend programme, and appeared on Loose Women and BBC Morning Live. The latest issue of Radio Times is out now.
