Fans of cosy crime dramas like Death in Paradise have reason to celebrate as the beloved mystery series Only Murders in the Building has recruited a host of A-list stars for its upcoming sixth season. The show, which airs on Hulu and Disney+, began production in London in May 2026 following its renewal in October 2025.
New Cast Members Announced
Disney has confirmed that several major stars have joined the established cast. Jennifer Saunders, known for Absolutely Fabulous, has come on board, alongside Skins alumnus Sean Teale, Bridgerton's Simone Ashley, Willow star Amar Chadha-Patel, and Heartstopper's Rhea Norwood. Guest roles include Matthew Beard from The Imitation Game and Sharon Horgan from Bad Sisters.
Plot Details Under Wraps
Plot details for the new season remain secret, but it marks the first time the show has filmed outside the United States. The series stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez reprising their roles as Charles, Oliver, and Mabel. Previous seasons have featured guest stars like Meryl Streep, Renée Zellweger, and Keegan-Michael Key.
Season five ended with the trio listening to Cinda Canning's (Tina Fey) true-crime podcast about a red-haired woman accused of murdering a royal descendant in London. The woman later appeared at the Arconia gates, revealed to be Cinda herself, attacked in connection with the scandal.
Production and Release
Selena Gomez announced the start of filming on Instagram with a photo from the set in London, captioned 'Season 6 Day 1!' with a Union Jack emoji. A release date has not been confirmed, but it is expected before the end of 2026.
