The One Show host Alex Jones made a major announcement about the programme's future on Monday evening, but viewers were left unimpressed, branding the news 'dull'. Just minutes into the episode, Alex and co-host Lauren Laverne paused the show to reveal a new way for fans to get in touch.
'We have something new for 2025,' Alex announced, as a phone number and QR code appeared on screen. Viewers can now send messages via WhatsApp on 0330 123 1 700, or scan the QR code. 'Remember to include your name with your message, or you can still contact us in all the usual ways,' she added.
Lauren Laverne, rubbing her hands together excitedly, said: 'Love that. No excuse not to talk to us, come on!' However, the announcement was met with a lukewarm response from viewers, who took to social media to express their disappointment, with some calling it 'the most boring announcement ever'.
The episode also featured an array of guests, including Dame Prue Leith, who discussed her stint on The Masked Singer, actor Mark Williams, known for his role as Arthur Weasley in Harry Potter, and adventurer Ben Fogle, who spoke about his latest expeditions.
