Olly Rix, known for his roles in Call the Midwife and Casualty, has announced his engagement to fellow Casualty star Anna Chell. The couple shared the news on Instagram on Monday, January 19, with a photo of Rix kissing Chell's forehead.
Rix, 40, and Chell, 29, both appear in the BBC medical drama as surgeon Flynn Byron and nurse Jodie Whyte respectively. The caption on the post was simple, featuring only an engagement ring emoji and a red heart, prompting an outpouring of congratulations from fans and colleagues.
Co-star Sammy Dobson, who plays Nicole Piper on Casualty, wrote: 'ARGHHHH!!!! THIS IS SO, SO LUSH!!!! Congratulations!!!!' Other followers expressed their delight, with one commenting: 'Best news! Roll on the wedding.'
Rix first went public with his relationship with Chell in August 2025, sharing photos of the pair with his dog, Nellie. He joined the cast of Casualty in early 2025 after leaving Call the Midwife in 2024, where he played Matthew Aylward. Chell made her television debut in ITV's The Bay in 2022 before joining Casualty in 2023.
