Norman Reedus Bids Farewell to Daryl Dixon After 15 Years

Norman Reedus has officially finished filming his role as Daryl Dixon, marking the end of a 15-year journey with The Walking Dead franchise. The actor took to social media to share an emotional farewell, writing on X: 'Last filming day today for Daryl Dixon. It’s been such a joy for me to play this guy with all of u for this long. I feel really blessed. Truly. Thank you all really from my heart.'

Daryl first appeared in the third episode of the original series, quickly becoming a fan favourite as he evolved from a selfish loner to a key member of the group. The character became integral to the show's identity, surviving through the original series which ended in 2022, and continuing in spin-off series.

The Daryl Dixon spin-off saw the character washed up in France in its first two seasons, before heading to Spain in an attempt to find his way home. Season 2 also reunited Daryl with Carol, played by Melissa McBride, reviving one of the franchise's most beloved partnerships.

It was announced earlier this year that Daryl Dixon would conclude with season 4. In a statement at the time, Reedus expressed gratitude to fans, saying: 'Daryl Dixon has been an incredible journey. I thank each and every fan who has joined us on this ride. This finale isn't just an ending; it's a celebration of what we've all shared together.'

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is available on Sky Max and NOW.
