The Great British Bake Off returns to Channel 4 next week, and the new series promises plenty of laughs and surprises. One of the most talked-about moments from the upcoming season involves co-host Noel Fielding's hilarious selfie blunder with Paul Hollywood.

During filming, Fielding attempted to take a selfie with the notoriously stern judge, but the photo didn't turn out as planned. The mishap has become a running joke among the cast and crew, with Fielding reportedly finding the whole situation amusing.

This year's series also introduces vegan week and Danish week, reflecting current food trends. Paul Hollywood has made it clear that vegan bakes must still taste excellent, despite the lack of eggs and dairy. However, when asked if he would consider going vegan himself, Hollywood responded with incredulity: 'Are you joking?'

The heatwave during filming caused some challenges, with melting chocolate and butter in the tent. Prue Leith, who accidentally revealed last year's winner on Twitter, is seen in costume in the first episode, referencing the incident. She jokes: 'I'll know I'm a has-been when people stop telling me not to tweet.'

Among the 12 contestants, early favourites include Rahul, a nuclear research scientist; Antony, a laid-back baker; Manon, a French contestant; and Terry, a former air steward with a magnificent moustache. The first episode promises laugh-out-loud moments, including Kim-Joy's take on Dan's big biscuit.
