Leo Suter has seen his odds of replacing Daniel Craig as James Bond slashed from 25/1 to 10/1 after a flurry of bets over the last 24 hours. The 32-year-old star of Netflix's Vikings: Valhalla has moved from outsider to contender in the bookies' race.
Most recently, Slow Horses star Jack Lowden has leapfrogged previous frontrunners Jacob Elordi (9/1) and Callum Turner (7/4) to sit at 6/4 with Coral. Now Suter has joined the mix after his odds were cut.
Coral's John Hill on the betting bombshell
Coral's John Hill said: "Bond betting bombshell! Leo Suter has been heavily backed to be the next 007, with punters sending his odds crashing from 25/1 to 10/1. He's gone from outsider to one of the names to watch in the blink of an eye."
Given he is not quite a household name yet, speculation has arisen that he may have made it through to the next round of auditions this month.
Producers still in the dark
Hollywood insider Matt Belloni said on his most recent podcast episode of The Town that even the new 007 producers do not know who the next Bond is just yet.
Daniel Craig's final two James Bond movies are on TV this weekend, with Spectre on ITV1 at 9:35pm tonight and No Time To Die following at 8pm on Sunday.
