New Strictly Hosts Honoured With Blackpool Tower Light Show

Blackpool Tower, the iconic home of ballroom dancing, has been dramatically illuminated with the names of Strictly Come Dancing’s new presenting trio: Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe, and Josh Widdicombe.

The historic venue, whose Tower Ballroom hosts the BBC’s annual Blackpool Special, saw the presenters’ names rotating around its base from 9pm on Tuesday evening. A Strictly spokesperson confirmed the symbolic gesture, stating: "Blackpool is the home of ballroom of course so it felt the right thing to do to welcome the trio."

This upcoming series marks a significant shift for the popular dance competition, as it will be the first time a trio has fronted the show. They are set to take over from long-standing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who announced their departure in October 2025.

Willis, known for presenting shows such as Big Brother and Love Is Blind UK, expressed her overwhelming excitement at joining the Strictly family. "It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Strictly – I’ve cheered and danced along from my sofa for years – so to be stepping into the Strictly ballroom is something I can’t quite comprehend," she said.

Professional dancer Johannes Radebe, who first joined Strictly in 2018, spoke of his honour in taking on this new role. "To be returning to Strictly Come Dancing in this new role is beyond anything I ever imagined," he shared. Stand-up comedian Josh Widdicombe, who previously competed in a festive special, humorously recalled his past Strictly experience, saying: "Dancing the Charleston dressed as a penguin for the 2024 Christmas Special of Strictly remains my career high point."
