ITV has released a first-look trailer for its upcoming six-part drama Adultery, which is set to air this autumn. The series stars Romola Garai, known for Atonement, and Dominic Cooper, famous for Mamma Mia!, alongside Bridgerton's Shelley Conn and Matthew McNulty from After the Flood.
Plot Overview
The official synopsis describes Adultery as 'a provocative love story of passion, parenthood and peril that raises questions about class, grief and the effects of social media.' The narrative focuses on two families and a love affair that threatens to uproot their entire lives.
The story follows Tom Kirkman (Dominic Cooper) and Beth Brookes (Romola Garai), who feel an intense attraction upon their first meeting. The complication is that Tom's teenage daughter is dating Beth's son, Ollie. As Tom and Beth struggle with their undeniable chemistry, they must confront feelings of guilt and the devastating impact on their families and partners, Hannah (Shelley Conn) and Neil (Matthew McNulty).
