Set in mid-19th century Austria, The Empress is a German-language drama chronicling the tumultuous life of rebellious Bavarian princess Elisabeth "Sisi" von Wittelsbach. At merely 16 years old, Sisi fell passionately in love with Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria. Following their wedding, she discovers herself thrust into the intricate realm of court politics.
