Netflix's period drama Agatha Christie's Seven Dials has become a hit with fans, who are calling for more episodes. Released at the start of 2026, the mini-series has sparked debate about how much story can be packed into three hour-long episodes.
While some viewers approached it having already read the book with considerable anticipation, others were drawn in by the cast and found themselves craving further instalments. The word that repeatedly emerges when audiences describe the show is "fun". Based on the 1929 novel The Seven Dials Mystery by Agatha Christie, the vibrant adaptation appears to be captivating viewers across the board.
Fans Praise the Adaptation
One fan of the show said on Rotten Tomatoes: "Ahhhhhh SO MUCH FUN! ! I loved it. The artistic cinematography was brilliant, and obviously the acting was spot on. I made my husband bring all three." They added: "Wasn't predictable (a teeny bit) but certainly not for the most part, and I love the twists. Love, love, love, love! ! !"

The story centres on Lady Eileen Brent as she embarks on an amateur investigation into the suspicious death of her friend at a rural property, sparked by a prank that went catastrophically wrong. Her friend was poisoned in a deadly plot involving eight alarm clocks, and as she delves deeper, her investigation becomes increasingly complex. Their discoveries draw them into the murky world of secret organisations, obscure scientific formulae and espionage throughout the 1920s.
Creator and Future Prospects
Leading the project is Chris Chibnall, serving as both creator and writer of Agatha Christie's Seven Dials, who previously delivered the hugely praised BBC drama Broadchurch. His portfolio also includes contributions to the revived Doctor Who series.
One enthusiastic viewer called for a second series, posting: "Sign me up for this as a series.....delightful writing, acting and a gem of a mystery to enjoy. If we are only blessed with one Season I guess that will do but I really enjoyed this. Two Thumbs up."
As yet, no announcement has been made regarding a follow-up series, and the prospect appears unlikely.
