Calvin, played by Heaton, joins forces with a visiting marine scientist (Davis) as they attempt to confront the beast and uncover the island's buried secrets before it's too late.

In addition to the three main characters, the series features Willow Kean as Ruth Penney, Ruby Stokes as Mary Penney, Rohan Campbell as Jay Penney, and Kaleb Horn as Noah. The ensemble cast brings depth to this twisty limited series.
Creator's Inspiration
Creator Jesse McKeown shared his inspiration for the series: 'I've been coming to Newfoundland for many years, and it's become a part of my life. I just always felt like I wanted to set something here, that this would be a great place for something big and something kind of epic. It's such a unique landscape and such a rugged, dangerous, isolated, scary place in a lot of ways.' He added, 'But then there's also this other side to it, which is that the community is so warm and the people are so funny and unique and there are so many eccentricities about the place.'
Release Date
'Below' is set to debut on Netflix on October 8. The series blends local myth, thrilling suspense, and heartfelt humour, exploring themes of family, community, and change.
