Netflix has acquired the BBC's hit comedy series Amandaland, a spin-off of the popular sitcom Motherland. The six-part series, which premiered on BBC One in February last year, follows posh, snobbish mum Amanda as she downsizes from Chiswick to South Harlesden after her divorce.
Starring Lucy Punch as the highly-strung, Tesla-driving alpha mum, the series has been hailed by viewers as a 'masterpiece' and 'hilarious'. It holds an 85 per cent Rotten Tomatoes score and received four-star reviews from critics. The cast also includes Joanna Lumley, Philippa Dunne, Samuel Anderson, Siobhán McSweeney, and Rochenda Sandall.
The show was renewed last year, with production beginning in October. A release date for the new series has yet to be announced. Amandaland is coming to Netflix soon and is also available on BBC iPlayer.
