Nell Fisher Cast as Holly Wheeler in Stranger Things Season 5

The youngest Wheeler sibling is set for a more prominent role in the final season of Stranger Things, with a new actor taking over the part. Holly Wheeler, previously played by twins Anniston and Tinsley Price, will now be portrayed by Nell Fisher, known for her role in Evil Dead Rise.

The recasting comes as the character is promoted from a supporting role to a main party member in season 5. The Duffer Brothers, creators of the show, decided to bring in an older actor to match Holly's increased screen time and more substantial arc. Fisher was 12 during most of the production schedule, while Holly is meant to be between 9 and 10 years old in the season, set in autumn 1987.

Matt Duffer, co-creator, praised Fisher's performance, telling Radio Times: 'Nell Fisher is a really exciting new talent, and she's playing Holly Wheeler, and she's just absolutely phenomenal. So we're excited to introduce her to the world.' Fisher herself shared her excitement, describing a sequence with Cara Buono, who plays her mother, involving action and hiding underwater.

This is not the first time a recurring family member has been given a larger role; Priah Ferguson's Erica Sinclair also saw her part expand in previous seasons. The final season of Stranger Things premieres on Netflix on Christmas Day, with part 2 following.
