EastEnders Star Natalie Cassidy's Remarkable Three-Stone Weight Loss Journey

EastEnders actress Natalie Cassidy has reportedly shed three stone after adopting a healthier lifestyle. The 36-year-old, who plays Sonia Fowler on the ITV soap, has been showcasing a slimmer figure following a summer fitness drive.

Cassidy has a history of dieting, having released a fitness DVD in 2007. However, her weight loss efforts were not always healthy; in 2009, she admitted to using laxatives after meals, describing her behaviour as 'bordering on an eating disorder'. Over the years, her weight has fluctuated from a size 16 to a size 4-6 at her smallest.

Now, the actress says she is happier and healthier after transforming her lifestyle over the past three years. She completed the London Marathon in 2019 in honour of her co-star Barbara Windsor, training rigorously, including an 18-mile run in one day.

Cassidy credited her new-found confidence to learning how to eat properly and becoming comfortable with herself. She cut out 'rubbish' like cheese, crisps, and dips, and swore off takeaways to maintain her strict diet. The mother of two, who has daughters Eliza, eight, and Joanie, two, has been a fixture on EastEnders since 1993 and has also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Big Brother.
