Speaking to Charlie Stayt, Munchetty said: 'We're with you until 10 o'clock this morning, and then Saturday Kitchen takes over, and at the helm is Alex Jones. Hello, what an improvement. Don't tell Matt I said that.'
Alex Jones reacted with surprise, laughing off the comment before detailing the show's lineup, which included chefs Bryn Williams, Andi Oliver, and Ranveet Gill, as well as guest Ben Elton. Elton shared his food preferences, naming sweet potatoes as his 'food hell' and classic fish and chips as his 'food heaven'.
Matt Tebbutt's absence comes amid his recent appointment as a judge on MasterChef: The Professionals, replacing Gregg Wallace. The show's Instagram account announced the news, welcoming Tebbutt to the MasterChef family alongside Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti.
Gregg Wallace stepped away from MasterChef in November 2024 following historical misconduct allegations, which he strongly denied. An investigation by law firm Lewis Silkin upheld 45 of 83 allegations, including one of 'unwelcome physical contact'. Wallace apologised, stating he was 'deeply sorry for any distress caused' but maintained that 'none of the serious allegations against me were upheld'.
