BBC Breakfast star Naga Munchetty has confirmed she is not leaving the show, addressing false job adverts circulated by scammers live on air. The 48-year-old presenter, who has been with the programme since 2014, made her position clear during Saturday's broadcast alongside co-host Charlie Stayt.
Speaking about the fraudulent adverts, Munchetty said: 'I have had them, and block. You're completely confused because I'm not in the market looking for another job at the moment in time.' The statement came after she revealed scammers had made it appear she was seeking another role.
Munchetty, who typically hosts from Thursday to Sunday, recently appeared on topical news quiz Have I Got News For You, but has squashed any speculation about leaving BBC Breakfast. The popular anchor joined the show in 2014 after four years with the BBC.
During the same episode, Munchetty joked that Stayt could have a career in used car sales after he discussed a Bugatti Supersport 300+ going to auction for an estimated £4.3 million. Stayt admitted he was unsure about the car's details, prompting Munchetty's light-hearted remark.
Fans of the presenter also have a new series of Claimed and Shamed to look forward to, which follows insurance companies and police units exposing insurance cheats across the UK.
