Fans of BBC's The Night Manager looking for their next espionage fix should turn to Netflix's The Night Agent, which returns for a third season on February 19. Both series share striking similarities, from their near-identical titles to their source material as adapted novels.
The Night Agent stars Gabriel Basso as FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who begins as a Night Action telephone operator at the White House before becoming an independent operative. The show, like The Night Manager, features the protagonist infiltrating criminal organisations and delivering high-octane action sequences.
Season three sees Sutherland facing his toughest challenge yet, following orders from his superior Catherine Weaver (Amanda Warren). Basso told The Hollywood Reporter that his character is 'starting to fall into the power trap' after being forced into heroism in earlier seasons.
IMDb reviewer jetosanon called the series a 'thrilling masterpiece of action, suspense and mystery', rating it 10/10 and urging fans of action-packed shows to watch. The Night Manager season two, meanwhile, earned praise from The Independent's Nick Hilton for being 'gripping without being excessively silly'.
