David Mitchell and Robert Webb, best known for their iconic sitcom Peep Show, are reuniting for a new sketch comedy series on Channel 4. The as-yet-untitled show will consist of six half-hour episodes and marks their first TV collaboration since 2021.
The duo will be joined by up-and-coming comedians Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Lara Ricote, Stevie Martin, and Krystal Evans. Channel 4 described the project as “a bold return to British sketch comedy with an innovative merging of comedy minds across generations”.
In a statement, Mitchell and Webb said: “When Channel 4 asked us to do another sketch show we were startled, bemused and available. It’s a perilous time for the industry and so it’s our hope that relaunching the trickiest genre of comedy is a brilliant piece of counterintuitive commissioning.” They added, jokingly: “We’re confident that… we’re not about to give British TV comedy a final lethal nudge into the abyss.”
Mitchell and Webb previously starred together in Peep Show (2003–2015) and the sketch show That Mitchell And Webb Look (2006–2010). Their last joint project was the second series of sitcom Back in 2021.
