Missing X Factor star Levi Davis: mum's fresh appeal

Levi Davis, the rugby union player and X Factor Celebrity contestant who vanished aged 24 on October 29, 2022, has been missing for four years. His mother, Julie, has issued a fresh appeal, saying she remains hopeful of finding her son alive.

Mother's Emotional Appeal

In a video posted on Missing People's YouTube channel, as reported by the Mirror, Julie described Levi as someone who "had the ability to light up a room when he walked in". She said: "Levi would do anything to put a smile on people's faces," before recalling cherished memories with her son.

She added: "The uncertainty is heartbreaking. There are times when the emotional weight feels overwhelming."

Investigation Status

A spokesperson for the Missing People charity, which is supporting Levi's family, said: "Levi, if you are reading this, please get in touch. Our service is non-judgemental, confidential, and free. We just want to provide you with the support you need and help you to be safe."

In 2024, Catalonian police informed the BBC that their investigation into his disappearance had "concluded", stating their "most plausible hypothesis" was that Levi had drowned at sea. His family have previously urged UK police to take charge of the investigation and remain determined to continue searching for answers.

Background and Last Sighting

Levi featured as a winger for Bath and took part in The X Factor: Celebrity in 2019 alongside Thom Evans and Ben Foden as part of the group Try Star. He was last captured on CCTV departing The Old Irish Pub on La Rambla in Barcelona at approximately 10pm, with staff reporting he had consumed just one or two drinks.

Levi had run out of cash and was requesting £30 from friends and family to secure accommodation for the night. His final known communication occurred after midnight, when he sent a WhatsApp message to a friend. He had embarked on his travels following a severe knee injury that ended his rugby career, and had contemplated leaving the sport to pursue music.

The X Factor star had previously been candid about his bisexuality and had fallen victim to a "sextortion" scheme before he went missing. Two years after his disappearance, Julie confessed to concerns that these two factors might be linked. According to Julie, Levi was raped and the assault was recorded, which resulted in him posting a video stating his life was at risk.

Missing People have urged anyone with potential information regarding Levi's disappearance to contact their helpline by calling 116 000.
