Miley Cyrus Gets Walk of Fame Star, Mom Hints at Wedding

Miley Cyrus achieved a significant milestone on Friday as she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with her mother Tish seemingly hinting at another possible milestone in the singer's life. The 33-year-old singer, whose engagement to Maxx Morando was confirmed late last year, was supported by close friends and loved ones during the glitzy ceremony.

The Flowers hitmaker paused for memorable photos next to her new star, which sits directly across from the iconic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. She was also joined by her mother and older sister Brandi Cyrus for a few family photos. At one point, Tish took a step to the right and called out, 'We're gonna bring the husband.' Both she and Cyrus then motioned Morando over, and the 27-year-old singer soon stood next to the former Disney Channel actress for a sweet photo session of their own. The couple flashed smiles before Morando leaned in to place a gentle kiss on the star's cheek.

A Private Romance

Cyrus and Morando began dating in 2021 following a blind date, and the pair have mainly kept their romance out of the spotlight. The songstress, who was previously married to actor Liam Hemsworth, has made occasional red carpet appearances with the fellow music artist over the years. In March, Cyrus and Morando cozied up at the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special in Hollywood.

'He's very similar to me. We just don't take life too seriously,' she told Harper's Bazaar back in 2024, before later sharing that he 'inspires me so much.' She has also been open about their six-year age gap, telling the outlet, 'He looks at life really differently than I do. He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters... Honestly, he's raised our dog off Reddit.'

Engagement and Wedding Plans

Late last year in December, Cyrus unveiled a gold diamond ring on her left hand as the couple attended the premiere of Avatar: Fire And Ash. Their engagement was soon confirmed, and her eye-catching ring was estimated to be worth around $150,000. A few months earlier, a source told Us Weekly that Cyrus was considering 'eloping' with Morando instead of having 'another wedding.'

'Miley is really happy right now and in such a good, calm place. She's not super into the idea of doing another wedding,' the insider said. The couple have plans to 'celebrate their own way' with 'something fun and meaningful that feels very special to them.' Cyrus and Morando 'have talked about eloping and doing something very private with just the two of them.'

Separate sources have also told the Daily Mail that those close to Cyrus believe that her romance with Morando is different from past relationships. 'Friends are happy for Miley, because Maxx is a really good guy and not the usual guy she goes after,' an insider shared. Morando has also grown close to the singer's family, including her mother Tish. 'Tish knows him pretty well and likes him a lot… She's definitely very happy about this; it's a good thing. The family is very happy with this. No drama.'

Despite Tish seemingly referring to Morando as her daughter's 'husband,' the couple themselves have yet to confirm they have tied the knot.

The Walk of Fame Ceremony

Cyrus was honored with the 2,845th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Recording Category. She was supported by loved ones, cheering fans, as well as special guests Anya Taylor-Joy and Donatella Versace.

'What's so special to me about this star is that it's an accumulation of devotion,' Cyrus told attendees during her moving speech. 'The star isn't something you win like a seasonal game, it's not something that you can chase or collect, it's not something you make the next record for and then tote it around like a trophy.'

She also added that the special moment will not last forever. 'And after today, I commit to continuing the cycle of creation because that is what I truly live for. And it's getting really good.' Cyrus continued, 'My hope is what I leave behind continues to affect the hearts of generations to come. Ones that I won't be here to experience. I hope that it awakens something raw and imperfect and sexy and glamorous and joyful in times that need it.'

The star then glanced out to the cheering crowd nearby and said, 'To my fans, you are the stars that make my dream a reality everyday. Through your love and your support. And I thank you.' Towards the end of her speech, she became emotional while also giving a shout out to her loved ones. 'To my family, my future family, my parents, my mom, my siblings, my friends, my collaborators. Thank you for loving and supporting not only the choices that I make, but my fears and then facing them with me.'

Fashion and Appearances

The singer glammed up for the big event in a sleeveless, black Versace gown which had various cutouts on the material. Her blonde locks were parted in the middle and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in light waves. Cyrus opted for minimal accessories and added a few bracelets to her left wrist as well as her engagement ring on her left hand. A warm blush was added to her cheekbones for a radiant glow while a nude-colored glossy tint was worn on her lips for a finishing touch.

Taylor-Joy also turned heads at the ceremony wearing a halter-styled minidress with shimmering tasseled details. The Queen's Gambit actress slipped into open-toed heels and pulled back her hair onto a sleek ponytail. Versace was stylish in a fitted white minidress that had gold details on the shoulders and also donned white-heeled boots. The designer sported a pair of fashionable black shades and allowed her blonde locks to cascade down past her shoulders.

Taylor-Joy and Versace were seen strolling towards the ceremony together underneath the warm sunshine. The actress was later seen sitting next to her husband Malcolm McRae, whom she tied the knot with in 2022. Cyrus' mom Tish held a big smile in a cropped black shirt as well as a pair of black trousers and a gold-chained belt that wrapped around her waist. She was accompanied by partner Dominic Purcell, who kept it casual in a white shirt and gray pants. Morando showed off his own personal style in flared black pants as well as a red-printed shirt and black sunglasses. He was later seen flashing a smile as he posed next to the singer's star.
