Michelle Keegan has been seen on location in Knutsford as she films scenes for the upcoming Netflix drama The Woods, based on the novel by Harlan Coben. The former Coronation Street actress was pictured alongside co-stars Tom Bateman and James Buckley as they prepared for shots on the street in Cheshire.
Cast and Plot Details
The thriller, from Manchester-based Quay Street Productions, centres on a main character whose sister went missing from a summer camp twenty years ago. After rebuilding his life, the body of a man turns up, suggesting there could have been more to her disappearance.
Tom Bateman takes the lead role of Paul ‘Cope’ Copeland, while Keegan stars as Lucy Silverfield. Tracy-Ann Oberman, Tom Allen and Mandeep Dhillon also appear, with Inbetweeners actor James Buckley featuring in the series. The trio were seen sharing a laugh between shots in Knutsford.
Filming Locations
Earlier this week, production was spotted outside the Edwardian Manchester Hotel at the Free Trade Hall, where a car valet scene had been set up. In June, scenes starring Keegan were filmed in Bolton’s Le Mans Crescent and on Mount Street in Manchester city centre, near Central Library and The Midland hotel.
The Woods marks the 14th Coben adaptation for Netflix and follows the global success of Fool Me Once, which streamed at the end of 2023.

“Lucy is a totally different character to Maya,” Keegan told Netflix. “She’s a little damaged and never found true peace. She believed that by moving away and having a successful career, she could escape the past, but somehow it never leaves her.”

The Woods is written and executive produced by Danny Brocklehurst, who previously adapted Run Away, Fool Me Once, and Stay Close for Netflix. A release date for the series has not yet been announced.
