Metallica's M72 Tour Stops in Cardiff
Metallica, the legendary heavy metal band featuring James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo, will perform at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on June 28, 2026, as part of their ongoing M72 World Tour. The tour, which began in April 2023 in Amsterdam, is now in its fourth year and continues the band's No Repeat Weekend tradition, offering entirely different setlists and support lineups for each night of the two-show stands.
Stage Times for the Cardiff Show
The public gates will open at 3:30pm. The first support act, Knocked Loose, will take the stage at 5:00pm, followed by Gojira from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Metallica is scheduled to perform from 7:30pm until the 10:00pm curfew. These times are subject to change.
Support Acts: Gojira and Knocked Loose
Opening for Metallica are French progressive rock band Gojira and American hardcore punk band Knocked Loose. Gojira, formed in 1996 and originally named Godzilla, gained international recognition as the first heavy metal band to perform at an Olympic opening ceremony during the 2024 Summer Olympics in France. Knocked Loose, from Oldham County, Kentucky, formed in 2013 and are known for their intense hardcore punk sound.
Full Production and Stadium Setup
The Principality Stadium will feature the tour's full production, including a massive in-the-round stage, and the stadium roof will be closed to enhance the audio experience.
