Meghan Markle could be planning her television comeback, with swirling rumours that she is set to revive her iconic role from Suits in a big-budget film. The Duchess of Sussex played Rachel Zane in the legal drama from 2011 to 2018, giving up her acting career when she met Prince Harry.
Suits Revival Rumours
The show continued without her for two more seasons before ending, but in recent years it has found a vast new audience on streaming platforms, topping Netflix charts between 2023 and 2025. As a result, sources claim a spin-off film could be in development.
TV insiders have claimed, according to The Sun, that industry bosses are eager to capitalise on the show's popularity, with producers even reportedly offering Meghan a co-executive producer role to reunite her with her co-stars.
Insider Insights
According to The Express, an inside source said: “They believe it’s a no-brainer. The original Suits show still attracts a massive audience on streaming giants Netflix and Peacock as well as endless reruns on terrestrial TV stations across America – in large part because of the popularity of her character Rachel Zane.”
Show creator Aaron Korsh is reportedly in “advanced talks” with senior executives at Universal Pictures, the Hollywood studio that is a sister company to American TV network NBC, which aired his original series. Korsh, who remains a close friend of Meghan, has declined to publicly comment other than to tease: “We might do a Suits movie. That could be fun.”
Co-Star Reunion
Meghan’s former co-stars, including Patrick J Adams, Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres, are all said to have been ‘sounded out’ about a big screen reunion, as the source added: “All seem to be on board barring minor scheduling conflicts. Now it’s pretty much over to Meghan. There’s no doubt this would be a huge payday for her as well as maintaining a high-profile and restoring public goodwill that, aside from her core fans, has been falling away in recent years.”
Meghan will soon be appearing on the big screen as she makes her return to acting with a cameo role playing herself in the upcoming Netflix comedy film Close Personal Friends, alongside Lily Collins and Brie Larson.
Support from Prince Harry
As rumours first emerged of Meghan’s return to acting, a source told The Sun: "This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves. She has been swamped with offers, but this one felt right. It is Meghan's way of gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set."
They added that everybody involved in the production had been sworn to secrecy. Meanwhile, Prince Harry is said to be extremely supportive of his wife's return to the screen and has been encouraging her to do "whatever brings her joy."
