Meghan Markle is reportedly in early talks to join the cast of Guy Ritchie's drama The Gentlemen for its potential third season, according to Deadline. The Duchess of Sussex, best known for her role as Rachel Zane in Suits, is said to be considering a return to acting as she looks to leave California.
Early-stage conversations
Sources told Deadline that “preliminary conversations” have taken place, though the talks “are in very early stages” and are “hypothetical at this point because The Gentlemen … has not been renewed for a third season yet.” The publication also reported that “no role” has yet been identified for Meghan.
The Gentlemen, which stars Theo James, Kaya Scodelario and Vinnie Jones, has also featured actors including Ray Winstone, Nigel Havers and Hugh Bonneville. Series two is set to premiere on September 3rd, 2026.
Attention and Netflix deal
Deadline added that the “stunt casting” of the Duchess of Sussex would “bring a lot of attention to the show” and would keep within the Sussexes' Netflix first-look deal.
News.com.au star Bronte Coy told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that Meghan's return to acting “is such a key part of the puzzle.” She added: “I think when we all heard that news that Harry and Meghan were moving here, and within a matter of days, and the kids were enrolled in school, everyone was asking, what is Meghan going to be doing?”
“I'm told it [the project] is significant, and she's very excited about it,” Coy said.
