The highly anticipated third season of the gripping drama Tell Me Lies has landed on Disney+, introducing a compelling new character who is already captivating audiences. The season premiered on 13 January 2026 with three brand-new episodes, continuing the addictive and turbulent saga of Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) and Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) at Baird College.
Alex's Dramatic Entrance in Tell Me Lies
From the very first episode, a new figure enters the orbit of the central friend group: Alex, the university's reliable drug dealer. His introduction is casual yet pivotal, occurring when Wrigley (Spencer House) asks Molly (Katherine Hughes) where to find MDMA. The plot thickens when Pippa (Sonia Mena) and Bree (Cat Missal) meet Alex in his car to make a purchase. During this encounter, Bree is visibly unsettled, sensing a strange familiarity with the dealer she cannot immediately place.
The connection becomes a central mystery in the second episode. When the group, referred to as the 'Puswas', needs anti-anxiety medication for Lucy, they again turn to Alex. In a crucial scene, he helps Lucy manage a severe panic attack by tapping his fingers on her wrist—a calming technique that Bree herself taught the group during their first year. This moment, reported by the Manchester Evening News, is the key that unlocks the past.
It is soon revealed that Alex is Bree's former foster brother. He recognised her immediately but was uncertain if her distant behaviour was intentional. While they once shared a close bond, Bree later confides in Lucy that they met in a troubled foster home, hinting at a complex and potentially painful shared history that fans are eager to see explored.
Who is the Actor Behind Alex?
The man bringing this enigmatic character to life is Costa D'Angelo, a rising Italian-Australian actor. D'Angelo honed his craft professionally, graduating with a bachelor's degree in acting from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2022. His journey into performance began much earlier, however, starting as a child model at just 12 years old.
In a revealing 2023 interview with the Casting Guild of Australia, D'Angelo shared that his first major audition tape was for a role in Angelina Jolie's war drama, Unbroken. He progressed through several rounds, ultimately finding himself as one of the final two candidates. "I was devastated because trust me I told everyone that I was going to be in a movie and it didn't end up happening," he admitted. Yet, this near-miss only solidified his passion, making him determined to pursue acting seriously.
A Career on the Rise
Prior to his breakout role in Tell Me Lies Season 3, D'Angelo built his resume with appearances in Australia's iconic soap opera Neighbours and the sci-fi thriller Crazy Fun Park. His career is now accelerating at a remarkable pace.
He is set to appear as Young Adam Trask in the forthcoming Netflix limited series adaptation of John Steinbeck's East of Eden. Furthermore, he has secured the role of Owen Boone in another Netflix project—a hockey series produced by renowned filmmaker Shawn Levy.
Tell Me Lies Season 3, featuring Costa D'Angelo's standout performance as Alex, is available to stream now exclusively on Disney+.
