MCR Fans Queue 24 Hours Early at Anfield Stadium

My Chemical Romance fans have been spotted waiting outside Anfield Stadium with more than 24 hours until the show begins. The American alternative rock band, known for hits like "Welcome to the Black Parade," "Teenagers," and "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)," is set to perform at Liverpool's Anfield Stadium on Tuesday, June 30. This highly-anticipated show marks the first of several UK dates, including stops in Glasgow and London.

Dedicated Fans Arrive Early

The ECHO was outside Anfield Stadium at around 3pm on Monday, where some fans claimed they had been waiting since 6am that morning. Although no official stage timings have been released, the show is expected to begin at approximately 5pm on Tuesday. The tour follows My Chemical Romance's sold-out 2025 North American stadium tour, "Long Live: The Black Parade," which celebrated their iconic album of the same name. Fans can expect to hear huge hits including "Teenagers," "Welcome to the Black Parade," and "Famous Last Words."

Anfield's History of Early Queues

This is not the first concert to see dedicated fans arriving early at the stadium. Taylor Swift fans queued outside the home of Liverpool FC from 5am on June 13, 2024, ahead of the singer's 100th Eras tour show. Similarly, on June 2, 2025, hundreds of Bruce Springsteen fans were pictured meeting in Stanley Park, having gathered three times a day for more than a week before his Anfield gig. The legendary musician and the E-Street Band played two shows at Anfield Stadium on June 4 and June 7 last year.

Roll Call System for Bruce Springsteen

Some confusion arose online when fans of Bruce Springsteen with tickets were spotted queuing by the ground. It turned out they were not waiting to enter the stadium but rather participating in a roll call system. Fans who arrived were given a number corresponding to how close they would be to the stage, written on their hand, with their name taken on a register. They had to attend roll calls at 10am, 3pm, and 7pm each day to maintain their place. When the gig began, they were walked in first by Springsteen's security team.

Anfield as a Music Destination

Anfield has become a leading destination for live music, hosting record-breaking runs from Taylor Swift and performances by Bruce Springsteen, Dua Lipa, Pink, and The Rolling Stones. The stadium continues to attract top-tier artists and their devoted fanbases, with My Chemical Romance's upcoming show adding to its legacy.
